Repair T&Cs

Terms & Conditions.

It is important for you to note all of the following points prior to submitting your handset for repair. By submitting your handset, you agree to all of the following:

Please note that by accepting our terms and conditions you are consenting to allow Apple to contact you, where relevant and for survey purposes only, once your repair is complete.

When a Proof of Purchase (POP) is required for an Apple repair, Apple will contact you directly at the email you provided.

We keep Apple iPhone parts for popular models and common repairs on site to enable us to deliver same day repairs, depending on usage and model we might not always have parts available for same day repair.

Any information or data saved on your handset (e.g. games, apps, phonebook content, text and picture messages, video clips) will be lost during the repair process. We recommend that you make a backup of any such data prior to sending your handset for repair. If you fail to remove your SD card or sim card before returning your device for repair they will be destroyed as per GDPR guidelines. Fónfix does not accept any liability whatsoever for information or data that is erased or lost during repair.

Your manufacturer warranty does not cover the following:
(a) moisture damage (e.g. handset has got damp or wet),
(b) physical damage (e.g. handset has been dropped or suffered a knock or scratched),
(c) cases where IMEI ID stickers have been removed,
(d) damage/malfunction caused by use in unsuitable environments (e.g. damp, dusty or dirty conditions).
Please refer to your device’s manufacturer warranty rules for further information.

Charges will apply where repairs are carried out outside of warranty terms or period, A detailed inspection of your handset will not proceed until the estimated cost of repair is accepted by you. Following acceptance of repair costs, repairs will proceed where possible, though exceptions can occur. If your handset is beyond repair, it will be returned without charge for the inspection. (Customer still pays for carriage)

Estimates for obvious physical damage which is not covered under warranty can be paid online at the time of purchase. The estimate charge may increase/decrease from time to time. If the final charge is less than the amount paid online, we will refund the balance. If the final charge is more than the amount paid online, we will contact you and process a payment for the payment balance.

In the case of your handset having no power, Fónfix will not be responsible for any further issues that the device is found to have once the repair has been attempted. Where a device has no power Fónfix may be unable to perform a diagnostic test.

If your handset has been repaired or a repair attempted at another service centre prior to this occasion, once opened your device could have further faults. In the case we return the unit unrepaired, Fónfix will not be responsible if your device malfunctions or operates differently.

It is your responsibility to inform us accurately of the condition of your Device. If your device is found to have a different fault from your selection on our website, we will contact you to discuss, as further charges may apply. It is the customers responsibility to package their device appropriately for shipping to Fónfix. Fónfix will not be responsible for any claims related to devices damaged in transit.

Warranty conditions – 12 months parts warranty, parts fitted to all out of warranty repairs are guaranteed for 12 months, warranty does not cover moisture damage, physical damage to parts or if the parts have been tampered with. The 12-month warranty only applies to the original repair; it does not extend for an additional 12 months if your part becomes faulty within this timeframe.


Note: Warranty repairs at our Fónfix Sandyford walk in service incur a €15 handling fee.

Apple iOS and MacOS out of warranty repairs at our front desk service in Sandyford incur a non-refundable diagnostic charge, the charge is currently €15 for iOS devices and €49 for MacOS devices. If the repair estimate is accepted after diagnostics this fee is deducted from the over all price, if the estimate is refused, there is no fault replicated or the repair is not completed for any other reason the fee is not refundable.

Fónfix will send you regular updates by SMS and email to keep you informed on the progress of your repair. We will also send you details on how to track your device when dispatched back to you with the carrier.

Free Collection and Return offers are not available for warranty repair service.

Percentage off offers are not available for the warranty repair service.

The same-day repair service in Dublin City is available to the following EirCodes: A94, A96, D01, D02, D03, D04, D05, D06, D6W, D07, D08, D09, D10, D11, D12, D14, D16, D17, D18, D20, D22, D24. Unfortunately, due to our locations, our carrier partner cannot provide this service for us in all areas of Co. Dublin.

After your repair is completed and returned the manufacturer could contact you for survey purposes.

Delays to your repair can occur due to the availability of parts or occasionally additional parts may be required.

There is a €49 nonrefundable inspection and diagnostic charge for all MacOS products.
